The aim of this paper is to define Turkish Type Gullets and their evolution process in Turkey. Turkish Type Gullet as a cultural object has usually been associated with “yacht” as cruising vehicle and “socio–cultural background” in general. Although there are many types of gullets throughout the history, its meaning and link with seagoing vehicle remained the same.  

On the other hand, through requirements and engineering knowledge changes in our everyday lives, Turkish Type Gullets is becoming more and more of an object that reminds us of the “past”. To investigate the “past”, firstly the history of ship is investigated in this paper. Secondly, the history of Bodrum region is investigated also. At final part, Turkish Type Gullet is tried to analyzed in the names of linguistic and semiotic. Moreover, this paper is proposed for searching a new gullet form with interdisciplinary committee.
