In this thesis, whole main engine and propulsion systems are examined to make a selection algorithm for high speed naval crafts. 

In first step the history and development of naval vessels are explained. In second step working principles of diesel engines, gas turbines, combine systems and electric powered main engines and types of propellers are shown. In last step matrice of benefit formed by scores of each main engine's and propulsion systems, which estimated due to economical, operational and engineering criterias. The system which have biggest total score step forward.
